| | Medical professional: 'Medicine ... has been captured' by trans ideology | During CP's Generation Indoctrination conference, Center for Bioethics and Culture founder and President Jennifer Lahl likened the medical realm's obsession with trans ideology to Nazi Germany, explaining, "[T]hink back to what doctors were doing at Nuremberg, during Nazi Germany. Think about the Tuskegge studies that were done for several decades in the United States on men with syphilis. … So this isn’t the first time ... where medicine has lost its way." Lahl discussed how the relationship between doctors and patients has transformed to that of "healthcare providers" and "clients" and cautioned that "medicine—like academics, like the media, like the cultural elites—has been captured." Gavin Newsom's office walked back the governor's claims that the state is "done" doing business with Walgreens after the pharmacy chain announced it would not distribute the abortion pill in states where it's illegal to do so. According to a report from Kaiser Health News, federal law requires the state to continue doing business with Walgreens through California's Medicaid program, Medi-Cal, which provides coverage to nearly 15 million low-income residents and people with disabilities. The state would violate federal Medicaid requirements, which allow patients to obtain medications at any approved pharmacy, should it stop covering Medi-Cal prescriptions filled at Walgreens stores. | | When (false) narratives trump reality | In this editorial, New York Times bestselling author and Emmy-nominated journalist Jason Mattera reveals how the left shapes public policy around contentious subjects by perpetuating false narratives through selective language. Using the example of "gender-affirming care," Mattera explains, "People have adopted this phrase because, in part, 'gender-affirming care' sounds far more palatable to the human ear than, say, chopping off a teenager's healthy sex organ." Brown highlights those who have genuinely struggled with their identities, noting that believers must stand up for the truth but not treat trans-identified people like they are our enemies. "[A]s much as we oppose their activist agenda—and we should oppose it wholeheartedly and unreservedly—we must always care about them as fellow image-bearers of God and objects of His redemptive love," he explains.
