Need a Good Book?

Someone recently asked me “What’s your favorite book?”

I didn’t have an answer. Which is strange because I read a lot of books (I’ve even written a few). There were too many to choose from, too many genres to think about. Though I struggled to isolate a favorite, I had no doubt about the impact books have had on me. As I look back on my spiritual journey, I think of specific books that I read at critical junctures that broadened my mind and spurred my spiritual growth.

As I plan for the coming year, I’m trying to be strategic about reading more (and better) books. A great place to start? Christianity Today’s 2022 Book Awards. It includes a great mix of books from categories as varied as “Apologetics and Evangelism” to Fiction and Christian Living.

Speaking of the new year, now is the perfect time to do some long-term planning. Our resource, Strategic Planning will help. The resource will guide your ministry team in how to grow in a variety of areas by offering helpful assessment tools and discussion questions to give shape and direction to your team meetings.
