The filmmakers bring Rowe’s unique vision to life through a mix of traditional documentary techniques, intricate sets that recreate Rowe’s Playhouse, animations, and scripted scenes based on Nellie Mae Rowe quotes. Narrated by Emmy-award winner, Uzo Aduba, with voice support by Broadway actress Amy Warren, this film considers the cultural and political forces that shaped Rowe’s life and art.
