LURING INSURERS: Lawmakers moved Friday to dole out $42 million in incentives to eight insurance companies, in an effort to draw more competition to Louisiana's beleaguered property insurance market.
RECALL INTRIGUE: A quirk in Louisiana law that lets voters add or remove their names from a recall petition for five days after the deadline could prove pivotal as officials try to verify tens of thousands of signatures on the petition to oust New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell. Meanwhile, the judge who put her own signature on the petition -- but failed to disclose it when ruling in favor of the recall organizers -- has asked the Louisiana Supreme Court to appoint another judge to decide whether she should be kicked off the case.
