NEW PAINTING COURSES

Just added, a selection of painting courses to take you into the summer. Be inspired by our beautiful beachfront surroundings and enjoy a day or several absorbing the sea breeze whilst developing your skills in painting.

Sketchbooks by the Sea with Katie Sollohub

Monday 25th & Tuesday 26th April - 10am to 5pm, £195

Where weather allows, you will be working outside directly in response to the beach, though not necessarily from observation. Having the studio so close to the beach means we can dip in and out of the studio space, to look at the sketchbooks as they evolve, to share work and ideas with others in the group, and to continue working on them in the stillness of the studio, making changes, layering, creating space for the next trip outside.

This course is starting to fill up and we anticipate it selling out soon.

Watercolour by the Seafront With Emily Jolley

Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th May 10am to 2pm, £105

We are pleased to welcome Emily Jolley to the MAKE family here at Atelier Beside the Sea. Emily will introduce you to watercolour through traditional and experimental methods. Being on the seafront will give us the inspiration to create expressive atmospheric paintings using layers and marks with your brushes and other tools.

Mastering Colour with Acrylics With Denise Harrison

Saturday 11th, 18th & 25th June 10am – 12pm, £95

Another new addition is Denise Harrison - ever popular and brimming with energy, join Denise in June for a very special painting session on the beach.

Scared of colour? – PERFECT! Don’t think you can paint? – EVEN BETTER!!!

No matter what level of painting skill you have Denise is well known for her inspiring and energetic sessions. Everything is provided, just bring along bags of enthusiasm.

Introducing Open Access

MAKE ARTis an open access format of relaxed, enjoyable drawing and painting sessions with the support of an experienced tutor, who is also a practicing artist.

On the first Saturday of each month our amazing creative space will be handed over to the drawers and painters of Brighton!

Your experienced tutor will happily guide both beginners as well as those who are ore confident. Following a loose structure, sessions will build monthly to increase your confidence and abilities working in your chosen medium.
