It's hard to believe we are now almost six months into the war. The conflict has brought unimaginable challenges and heartbreak. Just yesterday, a heavy barrage of 30 rockets fired by Hezbollah from Lebanon into the North tragically resulted in the death of a 25-year-old man in the Golan Heights and left two others wounded. Meanwhile, more hostages have been coming forward with deeply disturbing accounts of their treatment while in captivity. Testimonials include reports of sexual violence, physical abuse, and inhumane conditions. Currently, 19 women are still held by Hamas, as Israel is fighting to rescue all hostages, and obliterate Hamas. The overall situation across the region remains fraught with uncertainty, as Israel grapples with threats from both Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon, alongside mounting political pressure. In these trying times, the work of Zaka Tel-Aviv has never been more vital. Our volunteers provide essential support and assistance to those affected by the conflict, offering a glimmer of hope amidst the darkness. |
