CHECK IN SCOTLAND APP LAUNCHED TO HELP BUSINESSES WITH TRACK AND TRACE

A new digital service to support businesses in collecting contact details for contact tracing purposes, Check in Scotland, is now available in participating venues.

More than 6,400 venues have so far signed up to use this voluntary service for businesses in Scotland, supporting them to effectively collect the contact details of their visitors and customers.

The Check in Scotland service will enable people to quickly and securely provide their contact details by scanning the official Test & Protect Check in Scotland QR code poster via their smartphone camera or downloading the Check in Scotland app.

How to Report Self-Isolation Support Payments

If you’ve self-isolated due to coronavirus (COVID-19) and live in Scotland, you may be entitled to a lump-sum payment of £500 through the Self Isolation Support Grant.

If you’re required to file a Self Assessment tax return, these payments must be included as income. These payments are taxable but are exempt from Class 2 and Class 4 National Insurance contributions.

Coronavirus Guidance for Companies House Customers

Companies House has published guidance for its customers during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. It explains how it has adapted the way it works to maintain services for the public and protect the welfare of its employees.

Because Companies House has reduced the number of staff in its offices due to COVID restrictions, it takes longer to process paper documents. For this reason, it encourages customers to make use of existing online services.

Glenrothes Industrial Units Completed as Fife City Region Deal Programme Approved

As works are completed on the first business units that are part of Fife’s flagship City Region Deal Industrial Innovation Investment programme, the business case that sets out the arrangements for a further three years has been approved.

The finishing touches are now being added to the first nine new business units at Queensway Industrial Estate in Glenrothes.

Marine Fund Scotland Launched

The Marine Fund Scotland will support investments and jobs in seafood sectors, the marine environment and coastal communities in Scotland. It replaces the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) following the UK’s exit from the EU.

The EMFF supported the sustainable growth of the marine economy in coastal communities in fishing, aquaculture and seafood processing.
