Government Unveils Scotland's Strategic Framework to Suppress Coronavirus As we move into the next phase of controlling the impact of the Coronavirus in Scotland, the Scottish Government has published its proposed five level framework. Details of the framework have been published in a document which will be agreed in the Scottish Parliament this week. On Friday 30th October, the Scottish Government will announce which tier each area will fall under and then it is planned to come into force on Monday 2nd November. Coronavirus Hardship Fund Extended The Coronavirus Hardship Fund provides one-off grants, restricted to types of business, who were directly impacted by the restrictions implemented on 9th October 2020. Job Support Scheme Expanded Further The UK Government increased levels of support offered by the Job Support Scheme on 22nd October 2020. Self-Employment Income Support Scheme Grant Extension The UK Government has recognised the continued impact that coronavirus (COVID-19) has had on the self-employed and has taken action to provide support. The Self-Employment Income Support Scheme Grant Extension provides critical support to the self-employed in the form of two grants, each available for three month periods covering November 2020 to January 2021 and February 2021 to April 2021. Over £30 Million to Tackle Financial Insecurity A £30 million package of funding is being made available to local authorities to support people facing financial hardship as a result of coronavirus (COVID-19), including money to provide free school meals over the school holidays.
