Neural Mechanisms of Force-Based Manipulations Is a High Priority for NCCIH April 26, 2021 Merav Sabri, Ph.D. I am delighted to share with you a funding opportunity announcement (FOA) forNeural Mechanisms of Force-Based Manipulations: High Priority Research Networks (U24 Clinical Trial Optional). This FOA, jointly sponsored by the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) and the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), solicits applications that focus on developing innovative and impactful resources to examine key concepts that will advance our understandings of both neural mechanisms and biomechanics underlying force-based manipulations.

SBIR/STTR September 2021 Application Cycle

TheApplicant Assistance Program(AAP) is accepting applications for those who are interested in participating in the September 2021 SBIR/STTR application cycle.This is afreeprogram geared toward helping small businesses apply forPhase ISmall Business Innovation Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) funding. The AAP provides participants with services such as application needs assessment, mentoring, application preparation support, and application review.

One of the goals of AAP is to increase participation in the SBIR/STTR program by businesses that are owned or controlled by individuals who are traditionally underrepresented in the biomedical sciences. Therefore, NIH is particularly interested in applicationsfrom socially/economically disadvantaged small businesses (SDB), women-owned small business (WOSB), and small businesses located in under-represented states.

At the recent Integrative Medicine & Health Symposium hosted by the Academic Consortium for Integrative Medicine & Health, NCCIH hosted a session that looked at salutogenesis and the interest in exploring it through AI. At the session, NCCIH Director Dr. Helene Langevin discussed The Potential of Using Artificial Intelligence To Solve the Puzzle of Salutogenesisand others detailed the Bridge2AI program, which NCCIH is co-leading.
