Your eyes didn't deceive you this morning. There really are two new listings on the JSE in the near future. The first is Southern Palladium, which will start trading on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) this week. The JSE listing is a secondary listing and I'm waiting to see how much liquidity there is on the local exchange. The company raised $19 million in the initial public offering, so Australian investors like the story.
The second is more likely to feature on the broader investment radar. CA Sales Holdings is a consumer goods distribution business with its core business in Botswana and numerous other businesses in various African countries, including South Africa. The company is moving its listing from the Cape Town Stock Exchange to the JSE. If you recognise the name, it's because PSG is unbundling its stake in the company as part of PSG collapsing its JSE listing. I've writte n a feature article on this company here.
Other important news on the JSE includes a potential debt raise by Renergen, results released by Alexander Forbes, a detailed operating update from Fortress REIT (with more bad news for office portfolios), a trading statement by MultiChoice (a business that I think is in terminal decline) and loads of updates on director dealings in companies. There's all this and more in Ghost Bites this morning, including a shock for Hulamin shareholders.
Chris Gilmour's piece on Russian history and the threat to the world from the Ukraine wheat export (or lack thereof) caused quite a stir yesterday. In case you missed it, you can read it here. Another one to catch up on if you missed it is my article on the banks and why they are doing well in this environment.
In the latest episode of Magic Markets, you can enjoy a sneak peak at the companies that we cover in Magic Markets Premium, with great insights into the likes of Lululemon, Nike, Starbucks, Pepsico, Visa, Simon Property Group and Lockheed Martin. Listen to the show at this link.
Finally, if you are a business owner keen to learn more about cash flow forecasting techniques, this article from the team at TreasuryONE is worth a look.
I hope you have a fantastic Tuesday. If you are a Hulamin shareholder, I hope you spoil yourself over lunchtime today with a calorific treat - you probably need it!
