Wellness Workshops At Home
Combining movement and mind‑body therapies, our new live virtual workshops will keep you moving and connected with this community.
MSK’s Integrative Medicine Service is excited to announce a new series of live virtual wellness workshops.

In one afternoon, you will learn evidence‑based practical tools for optimizing your health from a pair of our specialists. These unique experiences combine two distinct integrative medicine therapies you can use every day to build resiliency. And by keeping our virtual groups to a small number of people, you will enjoy a high level of interaction and learning from one another and our experts.

Keep reading to learn more about our first two workshops coming up in June — Movement and Massage for Lymphatic Flow and Martial Arts and Meditation for Functional Everyday Movement.

Looking ahead to July, we will offer more virtual six‑week and four‑week mind‑body therapy classes. You can call 646‑888‑0800 to speak with one of our Care Coordinators for details about these upcoming series:

Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) is a type of therapeutic touch that helps support the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is essential for healthy body functioning. It absorbs tissue fluid and absorbs and transports fat, immune cells, and foreign bodies.

In this live online workshop, an MSK clinical fitness specialist and oncology nurse and an MSK massage therapist will teach you how to perform self‑MLD. It will focus on exercises and gentle movement to improve posture and strengthen and support the upper back and shoulders. Anyone interested in learning self‑MLD is welcome to attend.

Let your inner lion roar and feel empowered while learning martial arts movements to gain strength and flexibility in a safe non‑competitive environment. Martial arts are based on movements that support the joints, conserve energy, and generate power. In this workshop, under the guidance of an MSK mind‑body therapist and martial arts instructor and an MSK massage therapist and functional movement instructor, you will use your body to improve posture, stamina, and flexibility, and to enhance balance and wellbeing. Following an invigorating physical session, calm and relax your body with a guided meditation practice.
