We have long known that no one food choice plan will work for everyone, and in fact many of our patients will use multiple different plans to help manage their weight and diabetes. Some will try Weight Watchers, others will do Keto or Low Carb, and some will find success with Intermittent Fasting.

Most of these programs give success, albeit in varying degrees, but sometimes we have to intervene based on possible complications that may occur.

This week our intern, Zahra Hashemy, PharmD. Candidate, USF Taneja College of Pharmacy, has some interesting data on the risks of Intermittent Fasting, and how to reduce the chances of any serious side effects.
