Mardi Gras law: Paper confetti cannons should be banned, parade horses should be immunized and private portable toilets should be kept off public property. Those were a few of the recommendations that the New Orleans City Council’s new Carnival Legislative Advisory Committee made on Tuesday morning. Jaeger's properties: When prominent local developer Joe Jaeger died at 77 on Sunday due to injuries suffered during a car accident, he left behind a vast estate of hotels, resorts, gaming lodges and assorted development properties. But before his death, he had quietly worked to offload much of his empire. Tony McAuley has this look at what the future holds for Jaeger's properties.
'A very clean job': Within about two minutes of arriving at Carrollton Station early Monday morning, two burglars had jimmied open both the bar's cast-iron security gate and locked corner door. Next they took a saw to the venue's digital video recorder, disabling the camera, and dragged out the safe and ATM. They walked with around $15,000 cash.
