Large hospitals in Pennsylvania are worried that their incoming residents won’t be licensed when they arrive on July 1 due to a rocky rollout of a new electronic licensing system. It has been a little over a year since the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) officially launched its expedited licensure process in April 2017. The compact, which was initially developed by the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB), began to explore the idea of using an interstate compact for physician licensing in April 2013. Read more.
