New pandemic relief programs open to S.C. businesses

Federal relief funds, to be distributed by the S.C. Department of Administration, are available to qualifying small and minority businesses as well as nonprofit organizations. An online application process begins Oct. 19.

County seeking affordable housing funding proposals

Richland County has $250,000 available to distribute to Community Housing Development Organizations for rental and ownership unit proposals. The deadline for online applications is Nov. 9.

S.C. Supreme Court deems SAFE grants unconstitutional 

The S.C. Supreme Court has ruled that Gov. Henry McMaster’s $32 million tuition grant program for private school students violates the state constitution on the grounds that the funds were delivered directly to the schools.

Aluminum tariffs to be imposed on imports from 18 countries

The Trump administration said Friday that it would immediately impose tariffs on aluminum sheets imported from 18 countries after a preliminary investigation concluded they were being "dumped" in the U.S.
