A full church at St Barnabas, Cambridge as all ages came together to celebrate God’s goodness in the resurrection of Jesus. I sent the church out on Easter Sunday three years ago while their building was given a makeover, and it is great to see them back, see the building looking so smart and adapted for purpose, and the congregation growing too. And a little gift from God – not planned by the architect: what looks like a big stained glass window in the photo is actually a reflection in the new glass screen of the east window above it, effectively lost to view when the church was turned round on its axis some years ago, and now there again to see as you come in, when the light it right. Amazing! I picked up their monthly newssheet and was struck by this word from one of their “older youth”, writing after a weekend away together: I am leaving behind the idea of finding my identity in myself and my actions, relying on my own strength, and walking in fear and shame. I am taking away the truth that my strength and courage are from God.” Amen to that! David Thomson | March 27, 2016 at 1:24 pm | Categories: Uncategorized | URL: http://wp.me/poSLL-33o |
