Getting to Grips poster.jpgTo all in the diocese interested in the interface between Science and Religion

It’s now nearly a year since we shared a Party with a Purpose to help us network together on the Science and Religion theme. Since then a lot has been going on, and it feels time to get us together again to catch up properly, and probably to crystallise our network a bit more clearly with some sort of regular email.

So may I invite you, and anyone else you know is interested, to another Party with a Purpose at my house on Monday 26th September (7-9pm)? Please RSVP if you would like to come, noting any dietary concerns as I will lay on a fork supper again too.

The party will also be a springboard for organising a really rich seminar morning on Saturday October 15th, 10-12.30 at the Old Palace, Ely, at which three post-docs embedded as ethicists in Cambridge University science departments will give Ted-style talks on Big Questions - Neuroscience and Free Will, Evolutionary Co-operation and Cosmological Fine-Tuning. It promises to be a fascinating morning! A poster is attached: no need to book for this one: just turn up.

Then looking ahead, watch out for the publicity which will be coming out soon for the Ely Cathedral Science Festival which will be running from 19th May—18th June 2017. It will give us many further opportunities to network together, share in interesting exploration, and spread the word. Vicky Johnson will be able to give us a preview at the Party.

So – RSVP please now if you’d like to come, and pass the word around too.

+ David
