Mark Cooney of Spotted in Ely writes: "I am very proud to be creating 'Ely #WeStandTogether' after the atrocities that have recently occurred in both Manchester and London.

"The gathering will be just a group of people who wish to remember those lost, those left behind dealing with grievances and those who take their time to help but more so, Ely’s way of saying we are not afraid and we won't be defeated to MINDLESS acts of harm.

"We are very thankful to Bishop David Thomson for his support and he will lead us in a prayer and a moment’s silence to remember.

"The gathering will take place this Saturday, June 10th at 6.30pm on Ely Market Square and we invite everyone, including families, to join us with a candle and your singing voices.

"We have created a Facebook event for anyone to follow the event as it unfolds. https://www.facebook.com/events/318574555242868/."
