The home of contemporary craft and creative courses on Brighton Beach.
We love Yuta Segawa! We are very excited to have received a huge consignment of work from the studio of London-based ceramicist Yuta Segawa. His simple forms and unique glaze combinations are always hugely popular with visitors to the gallery, and, given that each is absolutely unique, your collection is never quite complete! We've got two different sized vases, mugs, beakers and espresso cups. Come and feed your need for beautiful, handmade ceramics. See the current stock here and, even better, visit the gallery to see all the combinations. |

All pieces, great and small The OPEN at Atelier has works in every scale, from the grandiose to the minature. Today we feature two of the tinier pieces in the show, both all the more intriguing for their diminutive size. Love Token II by Sara Reeve (above) is a bijou oil painting, measuring just 10x12cm. It's the artist's response to historical female nudes, that were kept hidden away in pockets & wallets, and it's a real treasure. Beach Huts & Boats by Jayne Stokes is an assemblage of acrylic, collage, and found object artworks, all arranged in a series of matchboxes. Each box is an mini masterpiece, and each demands close inspection! With 280 pieces by 180 artists in our OPEN at Atelier, you'll need to look closely to take it all in. Browse the whole show online, or take an hour or so in our cool and cavernous former fishing-arch to soak up the entirety of the show for yourself. We're open 11am-5pm, seven days a week. Don't forget to vote for your favourite piece while you are here. |

It's getting hot out there So, if you're looking to take off all your clothes, you'll need to head for Brighton's famous naturist beach, around a mile east of ABtS. The only flesh on display around here is in the artworks, including this brilliant Staffordshire glazed piece by ceramicist Rose Wallace. That said, as things get steamy on the seafront, our subterranean gallery remains the perfect place to cool off on a hot day. We're here 11am-5pm, seven days a week. Come and see us! |
