Good Afternoon, Before we get to your regular daily news briefing we want to ask you a question: What matters to you most in Scotland's 'new normal'? Life for all of us has changed beyond recognition since the end of March. Institutions which we took for granted have crumbled – from the office, the daily commute and the ‘sandwich economy’ to live events, festivals and group trips to the pub. Now we are asking Scotsman readers to help us take the temperature of the nation with a snapshot survey called the Big Conversation. Have your say here.
Now back to today's news...
In a concerned interview, the Scottish Health Secretary said lockdown measures in Scotland may "realistically" have to be imposed for up to six months. A football fan has told how escaped the clutches of notorious Scottish serial killer Dennis Nilsen who bought him dinner and invited him to the home where he killed 12 men. Restriction flouting students have been covered a lot recently, but what is it like for those young adults deprived of seminal experiences like Freshers Week? Today we reported students at this Scottish university have told of ‘prison-like’ conditions due to strict coronavirus measures implemented by the establishment. And finally, this is isn't the first lockdown the Highlands of Scotland has had to endure. Eighty years ago it was even more severe.
