Why reading this online means you're causing greenhouse gas emissions

You’re surfing the net, checking your smartphone, or catching up on Netflix. Nothing that isn't environmentally friendly, right? Wrong. Generating the power needed to run the internet and its related ICT infrastructure is now one of the biggest offenders when it comes to greenhouse gas emissions, pumping out as much CO2 as the airline industry used to do before the Covid-19 crisis began.
So, what do we do about it? The key lies in switching to renewable energy sources that can power the internet – and everything else – without producing emissions. But first, we all need to pause and truly consider the impact we have on our planet. That's what we've done in our SIX publication, which will open your eyes and provide SI insights that everybody in the investment business should have.
