Greetings from summer-like Southern California! There’s a red tide so at night, there’s a natural phenomenon of the waves illuminating when they’re crashing or there's friction in the water. It’s remarkable to see up close, which you can’t right now because the beaches are closed, but here’s a
video from the local news showing dolphins cutting through the bioluminescence.
Since I’m not traveling and I have no plans to for the immediate future, I’m finding new ways to create content. One of the things that has been on my to-do list is interviewing big travelers. One of the positives to come out of this stay-at-home order is that I finally got around to it and now I’m interviewing people almost every day. Last week, I spoke with
Josh Gates, and this week, I sat down with
Lee Abbamonte (he’s been to every country in the world and both poles). Yesterday, I talked to
Andrew McCarthy. Most people know Andrew from his popular 80s films like
Pretty in Pink,
St. Elmo’s Fire and, my personal favorite,
Weekend at Bernie’s. However, what you may not know is that he’s a prolific travel writer as well. We chatted about travel, the friendliest people in the world, where to find the best pizza and so much more. Check out the videos in each post to see our conversation and
please subscribe to my YouTube Channel (I need to build up my subscriber count).
We’ve been writing a lot of coronavirus-related travel stories (they can all be found
). If you find any of them helpful, please share with your family and friends and encourage them to sign up to our newsletter (
