We are delighted to announce that the new UKAS website was launched today.
It has been completely redesigned, ultimately to enhance the user experience, and we would like to draw your attention to some of the new key features and functionality of the site available to our existing customers.
Our website now features a dedicated ‘UKAS Customer Area’, accessible from the homepage, that brings together information from across the site particularly relevant to existing customers. Items within this area range from technical information including bulletins and publications, to how to apply for an extension to scope, rules governing the use of the UKAS logo and symbol and transition to new standards.
Online application forms have been integrated into the new site which means, for the first time, customers can apply for an extension to scope by submitting the relevant forms and key supporting information (as Word or PDF documents) via the website. This feature is also available to new applicants and will streamline the application process for all.
Compliance with current versions of the relevant UKAS Publications is an essential part of maintaining accrediation. Customers can now subscribe to the UKAS Publications List so that they will receive an email notification when a publication has been updated. This subscription will also cover UKAS Techical Bulletins. The monthly email communication that customers normally receive will be replaced by this functionality. All existing customers have been included on the subscriber list so there is need to subscribe again however, other contacts may subscribe to the UKAS Publications List if they wish to receive these email notifications. In addition, the UKAS Publications List is now available in a printable format.
The search facility has been improved across the site with a dedicated search for accredited organisations.
This area provides users with two ways to find an accredited organisation. There is a search bar where users can perform a search of all Schedule of Accreditation documents using a specific keyword or search term and include a post code if they wish to sort the results by distance. Alternatively, there is a ‘Browse’ function which allows users to begin their search based on the type of accredited organisation and then narrow it down by technical area. This search follows the same principles as the search previously available on the www.ukas.org website.
Following feedback from our customers who expressed a wish for more clear messaging and information on the work we do as the National Accreditation Body, the homepage now has dedicated areas describing our role with Government and also Businesses. This combined with the new ‘Quick Links’ section, improved menus, improved site search and media centre will ensure all visitors have easy access to the information they are looking for. The URL of our website has not changed so if you haven’t already done so, please visit www.ukas.com and take a look. |
