Question of the Week | Tuesday we asked: While the narrative about Worcester's economic growth says the city and region have turned the corner, key indicators such as new housing starts, per capita GDP and population growth for the Worcester metropolitan region (which includes Worcester County and Windham County, Conn.) show the region is lagging behind similar metro areas, such as Fresno, Calif. and Albany, N.Y. | Is Worcester undergoing a true renaissance? | | Opening a bunch of restaurants isn't economic growth. Its stupidity. People need affordable housing. NOT giant apartment buildings that are overpriced. Get real. The city and region needs to hold strong with its momentum, but a lot will also depend on how the state as a whole performs. Springfield and Boston are also on winning streaks.
