How Utahn is Utah? Here's how many are 'homegrown' — and if that’s changing
On several different occasions, I have heard people say "All these Californians are taking over Utah!" and with Utah's economy booming and more people moving here, I can see why someone might feel like that. But is it true? A recent survey showed that about 62% of Utah's residents were born in Utah. This is a higher "homegrown" rate than many other states, including Idaho. But what will Utah's population look like in the future?
During the past two years, no one has been through more than those who work in the healthcare system. This week, the National Student Nurses' Association convention was held in Salt Lake City. The theme was "Here's to the Heroes." How perfectly fitting. We should all be grateful to those who are willing to stand up and take care of those who cannot help themselves.
