Resources for Educators

At Cameron Art Museum, we believe in the power teacher have to change the world. We know teaching is difficult, especially now during the COVID-19 crisis. That's why we've been hard at work over the summer creating virtual resources for educators and home-school families.

We believe that arts are essential in developing critical thinking skills, learning how to communicate, appreciating different cultures, understanding history, and celebrating our shared humanity. We know that arts integration is an effective way to teach core curriculum that bridges the achievement gap.

Guided by this belief, we have created a School Programs Guide highlighting our virtual resources for education. This guide includes virtual tour offerings, class offerings, and free educational resources. We have also created two booklets of lesson plans - one focusing on artists in our collection and one focusing on famous artists. These lesson plans are perfect for the classroom or at home and include an art history lesson, an art project, and connections to core curriculum.
