In this newsletter we would like to draw your attention again to two CETECOM webinars. Firstly, we would like to inform you that our webinar on the Radio Equipment Directive 2014/53/EU from last Tuesday is now also available as a recording. In addition, we want to highlight an information for all manufacturers who use WLAN in their products. According to the Wi-Fi Alliance, the WPA3 security concept will be mandatory from July 2020 onwards.

WLAN: WPA3 becomes mandatory from July 1 onwards

Wi-Fi Protected Access 3 (WPA3) is a WLAN encryption standard and a supplement to the previously valid WPA2 standard. WPA3 promises significant improvements in the authentication and encryption of WLAN devices and thus provides more security for the devices.

The Wi-Fi Alliance has now announced that WPA3™ certification will be mandatory for all new Wi-Fi certifications from July 1, 2020.
