REMINDER: UTILITY SHUTOFF MORATORIUM THROUGH MARCH 15, 2021 | |
In OctoberGovernor Phil Murphy extended a moratorium via Executive Order 190, preventing New Jersey residents from having their utilities disconnected through at least March 15, 2021. The moratorium applies to all residential gas, electric and water utilities, both public and private. Further, the utilities will not be charging any late fees for arrearages. The Executive Order also expanded the moratorium to internet service in households where school age children may be using the internet for educational purposes. | |

SUCCESSFUL CONCLUSION OF FIRST PHASE OF CHARGE UP NEW JERSEY ELECTRIC VEHICLE PROGRAM | The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) concluded Phase One of the State’s Charge Up New Jersey electric vehicle (EV) incentive program on December 15. Announced by Governor Murphy in January 2020, Phase One of the program started issuing incentives in May and provides “post-purchase” incentives for eligible EVs.
