| Meet Donna Rim, Chief Development Officer What is your job? I help match people and organizations that want to support the museum with projects and programs that are in need of private funding.
What kind of training is needed to do your job? It’s mostly been on-the-job training over the years in different fundraising roles.
What skill do you use most often in your role? Communication, both written (proposals) and verbal (talking with potential donors about the museum), are key to fundraising.
What’s something that has surprised you about working in museums? I learn new things every single day from colleagues, donors, and other people I meet through working at the museum.
What’s something you’re most proud to have done at work? I'm proud of playing a part in raising support for people and programs that benefit the public and make an impact in people's lives. |
