Target's employee turnover rate this year fell below pre-pandemic levels and rival Walmart hired about 200,000 new employees during the third quarter. Both retailers say they've been able to recruit and retain employees in a tight labor market with higher wages and such perks as flexible scheduling and bonuses at Target and tuition coverage at Walmart.
A law going into effect on May 7, 2022, makes New York the third state to require private employers to notify employees of phone, email and internet usage monitoring. Connecticut and Delaware have similar laws in place, with penalties, notification requirements and coverage differing by state.
