News alert

In one the biggest changes to the region's innovation ecosystem infrastructure in a while, UpSurge Baltimore — the org behind Equitech Tuesdays and lots of other startup initiatives — will now operate within the Greater Baltimore Committee.

Speaking with Technical.ly in the leadup to the announcement, UpSurge CEO Kory Bailey described this as a "natural evolution" of work done by both organizations, which recently included stewarding the regional bid for the Economic Development Administration's Tech Hubs program.

While exact details get ironed out, the organizations say they have no plans for layoffs.
