CDC walks back recent COVID-19 testing change, but falls short of previous guidance recommending testing for all those exposed to the virus

The CDC had revised guidance earlier this week, saying people with no symptoms "do not necessarily need a test." That prompted backlash among public health experts who cited the role asymptomatic people have in spreading infections.
