House passes immigration bills to create a pathway to citizenship for undocumented ‘Dreamers’ and a green card process for farmworkers

The bills now head to the divided Senate, where Republican support will be needed to make them law. The American Dream and Promise Act creates a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children. The Farm Workforce Modernization Act creates a process by which immigrant farmworkers could earn a green card.
