The suspect in the mass shooting in Dayton, Ohio, wore body armor and used a rifle with high-capacity magazines, mayor says

At least nine people are dead and 26 injured after a lone gunman opened fire early Sunday in an entertainment district in Dayton, Ohio, before being fatally shot by police. Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley said Dayton police officers patrolling the area fired on the shooter within a minute. “Hundreds of people in the Oregon District could be dead today” if police hadn’t acted quickly, she said.
