Help Us Plan the Next 30 Years

Manchester-by-the-Sea Public Library is preparing a grant application for the next round of construction grant funding from the state. To apply for the grant, which is due next Spring,  we are preparing a Library Building Program, a planning document which identifies what the community wants and needs from their library in the next few decades. To begin that process, we need lots of community feedback, so we are inviting community members, library users (and non-users) to participate in focus groups. If you are interested in participating in one of the focus groups, please contact the library.

  • Thursday, 10/26  at 2:30pm for Adults
  • Thursday, 10/26 at 4:00pm for Teens
  • Friday, 10/27 at  11:00am for Parents of small and school-aged children

We will also be hosting two public forums, tentatively on November 15, one at 11:00am and another at 6:00pm.

Please feel free to contact the director Cynthia Gemmell directly if you have any questions, and I look forward to meeting you all.

October Cybersecurity Awareness Month

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has launched a new cybersecurity awareness program – Secure Our World – through which the agency will be promoting behavioral change across the nation.

CISA encourages four key behaviors to greatly improve security:

  1. Use strong passwords and a password manager
  2. Implement multifactor authentication
  3. Learn how to recognize phishing and reporting phishing attempts
  4. Update software promptly

Find more resources at https://www.cisa.gov/cybersecurity-awareness-month or come to the library for a Digital Advice session on Monday or Friday with your questions.
