One of the tasks I enjoy most in my role as the ACDIS associate director of membership and product development is getting to interact with our book authors and CDI Boot Camp instructors. Many of these talented professionals have been involved in CDI longer than they’d care to admit, but through that experience have developed a keen insight into advancements in the industry along with a desire to share that knowledge with ACDIS and with the larger clinical documentation improvement community.

There are only 18 more days until the 10^th Annual ACDIS Conference! Over the past few months, we’ve spoken to several speakers and provided their thoughts on the ACDIS Blog. Recently, we spoke with Barbara Brant, MPA, RN, CCDS, CDIP, CCS, a senior consultant with Cotiviti Health Care, presenting “CDI Specialists: Impact Potential in the Audit Process.”

These last several months have seen a dizzying array of changes, controversies, and regulations along with an equally dizzying array of discussion, advice, and opinions. Some are straightforward progress, while some result in confusing and sometimes contradictory approaches.

Are you a local chapter leader and planning to be at the ACDIS conference?
The chapter advisory board (CAB) met last week to discuss plans for local chapter-related events at the 10th anniversary ACDIS conference. If you’ve had the pleasure of attending the conference in years past, then you’re familiar with the various ways ACDIS attempts to help local chapters engage with fellow attendees from their state.
