Cong: Give funds to EC for VVPAT EVMs
Congress accused the Modi government of repeatedly refusing to comply with the Supreme Court order that electronic voting machines be linked with VVPAT, saying the court had given the directive after research showed that EVMs could be tampered with.

Paper trail tallies with EVM results in Punjab and Goa
Despite demands by Aam Aadmi Party and others for replacing the current EVMs with new-age voter-verifiable paper audit trail (VVPAT) machines for greater transparency , an analysis of results retrieved from VVPATs used across all 40 constituencies in Goa and 33 seats in Punjab shows little variation with results put out by EVMs without paper trail.

Supreme Court summons 6 states over vacancies in police force
At a time when 40% of judges' posts are lying vacant in high courts, the Supreme Court resolved on Monday to monitor filling up of 4.42 lakh vacancies in police departments across India and summoned top home department officials of six states with the highest vacancies.
