New Calais Access Point!

Eastern Area Agency on Aging marked the grand opening of its new access point at Calais United Methodist Church with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday morning.

The Calais Access Point is a space for older adults and caregivers to access EAAA services in their community. The Calais Access Point currently offers a café on Tuesdays and will continue to add more offerings throughout the summer, watch our Facebook and website for more information.

We want to thank TradeWinds Shop 'n Save and the Maine Community Foundation for helping to make this access point possible.

All Area Agencies on Aging are required by the Older Americans Act to create a four-year Area Planthataddresses the needs of older adults, adults with disabilities and caregivers in their regions. The Area Plan is developed with broad public participation, including input from the Agency Board of Directors, Advisory Council, public surveysand through public hearings. The plan must be approved by the Office of Aging and Disability Services. Once approved, the plan serves as the basis for planning, development and evaluation of programs, services and advocacy efforts offered through Older Americans Act funding locally.

The final draft of our Area Plan can be found on our website here: https://eaaa.org/area-plan/, which includes responses to all public comments during our public hearings.

Thank you to everyone who made our 2024 Healthy Aging Expo a success! As a way to improve, we ask those who were able to attend the event, to take a few minutes of your time to fill out our Expo exit survey. Feedback is confidential and will help us as we look at planning for 2025.
