Local authorities announced for our pilot assessments We have confirmed the first local authorities that will be assessed under the pilot of our new approach. The 3 local authorities are: - Birmingham City Council
- Lincolnshire County Council
- Nottingham City Council
The Health and Care Act 2022 gives us new powers that allow us give an independent assessment of care at a local authority level. The Act also gives us powers to assess integrated care systems. Our pilot assessments will help us make sure that our approach to local authority assessments is as meaningful and effective as possible. This follows last years test and learn activities across two local authority areas - Manchester City Council and Hampshire County Council, which tested aspects of our full assessment approach. |

Meet our Young Champions Our Young Champions bring together young people with lived experiences of health and social care. Our champions are a diverse group of young people who are having a real say in the services regulated by us. They look at services from GP practices to mental health trusts and community health providers, right across England. The panel was formed in October 2022 and has already begun to offer a fresh perspective on how we listen to, value and act on children and young peoples views, opinions and lived experiences. Insha, one of our Champions, has written a blog about what it was like joining us to talk for the first face to face meeting of Young Champions earlier this year. |
