One year later: COVID-19 lessons learned

It’s been almost a year since COVID-19 began to really take shape in the United States and affect hospitals, healthcare facilities and, of course, medical staffs. And it’s not over, naturally, just because we’re in a new year. MSPs know this all too well. What have been the biggest lessons for MSPs in what may turn out to be the most trying and challenging time as a healthcare staff member? It’d be hard to pick one among a sea of many, for sure.

A physician’s perspective on telemedicine

The past year saw a sharp increase in the number of telemedicine visits, largely due to the public health emergency precipitated by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). For example, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that telemedicine visits in the first quarter of 2020 increased by 50%. Furthermore, telemedicine visits rose 154% in the last week of March 2020 when compared to the same week in 2019.
