Tackling credentialing and privileging challenges for low-volume APPs

Various accreditors require you to measure the competency of an advanced practice practitioner (APP), such as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant, based on the work they’ve done recently at your organization. DNV GL Healthcare takes accreditation surveys virtual

For healthcare providers or organizations, accreditation surveys are unavoidable. In order to receive certification from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)—which is required for facilities wishing to receive reimbursement from Medicare—an organization must be accredited. TJC accredits a site at least once every three years, while DNV accredits a site for three years but visits annually.
