Every physician has stress, but today’s physicians may have even more stress than when they started practicing. Yale New Haven Hospital has developed a two-step assessment process for all clinicians who are at least 70 years old and seeking reappointment to the medical staff

The United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit (the “Court”) affirmed a Maryland district court’s granting of summary judgment, finding that a patient admission satisfies a hospital’s obligations under the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA) when the admission is made in good faith, e.g., with the intent to treat the patient.
