The worker stepped in an opening for a window that was yet to be installed, with an investigation finding multiple safety failings.

Stone company fined after workshop floor covered in hazardous dust
The £60,000 was issued after a stone kitchen worktop manufacturer repeatedly failed to protect workers from exposure to hazardous dust.

Wood supplier fined for failing to protect workers from dust
An inspection found the workshop was caked in dust, putting workers at risk of the health effects of excessive exposure to wood dust.

Fine for manufacturing firm after man loses finger in machinery
The worker attempted to stop material becoming tangled in machinery when his hand struck a poorly guarded rotating shaft.

Airline fined £3 million following worker injuries
The fine was issued after an investigation into 2 separate incidents found safety failings resulting in serious injuries.

Farm fined after worker’s leg trapped in machine
The £20,000 fine was issued after a workers leg was caught in a potato harvester machine, causing serious injuries.

Company fined after employees exposed to risks from vibrating tools
The £200,000 fine was issued after 2 workers were diagnosed with Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome after repeated exposure to vibrating hand tools.

Director handed suspended prison sentence after death of worker
The worker fell around 8 feet from wooden roof beams to the floor below, suffering fatal injuries. An investigation found failures to safely manage the roof work. 

School trust fined after member of public hit by falling tree branch
The pedestrian was struck during the felling of 2 trees when a rope holding a branch snapped and fell to the pavement below.
