NEWSFLASH: TEAM SUNWEB CONFIRM NEW SIGNINGS AND EXTENSIONS TO DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Team Sunweb are pleased to confirm two new arrivals and three extensions to their Development program. From 2019 Xandres Vervloesem (BEL) and Marius Mayrhofer (GER) join Team Sunweb, and contracts with Felix Gall (AUT), Jarno Mobach (NED) and Martin Salmon (GER) have been extended. 

With the recently announced Keep Challenging Center located in Sittard expected to be housed in Q1 of 2019, Team Sunweb's Development program will have benefit from a campus combining a state-of-the-art elite sport living environment with high-end support to continue to turn cycling into a true team sport.

Marius Mayrhofer (GER)

After joining Team Sunweb's Deutsche Talent Tage in 2018, the team saw a great fit between rider and team both on and off the bike. 1st at GP Bob Jungels, two stage wins at Course de la Paix, two stage wins at Oberösterreich Rundfahrt and a win at Trofeo comune di Vertova Memorial Petro Merelli amongst multiple top 10s throughout 2018; the 17-year-old 2017 junior German road champion has already shown his talent as a young rider and the team will develop his skills further throughout his two year contract.

Xandres Vervloesem (BEL)

A new addition to Team Sunweb's Development program for 2019, 18-year-old Vervloesem brings a wealth of climbing and stage race talent to the team and will wear the team's colours for the upcoming two seasons. Notable performances as a young rider include a stage win and 2nd in the GC at the 2017 Ain Bugey Valromey Tour, a stage win and 3rd in the GC at the 2017 Aubel Thimister La Gleize, 2nd at the junior E3 Harelbeke this year, 3rd in the GC at GP General Patton and a mountains jersey win at Oberösterreich Juniorenrundfahrt.

Felix Gall (AUT)

20 year old Gall signs a contract for an additional year with the team, starting his third year on Team Sunweb's Development program after a consistent high level through the 2018 season. Striking performances include multiple top 10 results at Le Tour de Savoie Mont Blanc which earned him the youth jersey win and 4th in the GC, 7th at the Austrian national road race championships and a bundle of top 5s at Grand Prix Priessnitz Spa.

Jarno Mobach (NED)

2019 will see Development Team Sunweb's Jarno Mobach wear the team's colours for the third consecutive year, with his new contract running until the end of 2020. A strong 2018 season saw the 20-year-old take multiple top 10s at Le Triptyque des Monts et Chateaux, which resulted in an 8th in the GC. Alongside several top results at Le Tour de Bretagne Cycliste, to finish 5th in the GC and 2nd in the youth classification.

Martin Salmon (GER)

20-year old-Salmon has played a part in Development Team Sunweb's numerous successes as one of the team's key support riders, and will ride for the team until the end of 2019. Most recently he played a pivotal role towards a stage win at Olympia's Tour on Wednesday and was part of the U23 German national team that propelled Max Kanter to victory for the past two consecutive years.
