Free Neighborhood Arts Concert: Boston Public Quartet & Boston City Singers Cantare Chorus | Join us at Roxbury's Hibernian Hall (184 Dudley Street) for a free Neighborhood Arts concert on Saturday, March 12. This one-hour, family-friendly event features the Boston Public Quartet, who will play engaging musical excerpts by Beethoven, Mendelssohn, and Shostakovich. The Boston City Singers Cantare Chorus will also take the stage to sing folksongs and conclude with Karl Jenkins’ Adiemus. A reception will be held afterwards. RSVP to reserve your seats in advance.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Premieres Open Door | Ronald K. Brown is renowned for his signature blend of modern dance and West African idioms in works that often lead to deeper examinations of issues of spirituality, community responsibility, and liberation. Open Door is a new work set to the music of Arturo O’Farrill and the Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra, adding a new flavor to his signature style. Watch an overview video of the piece.

Artist Connections: Paul Appleby Masterclass | This Wednesday, March 9, rising star tenor Paul Appleby makes his Celebrity Series debut at Longy's Pickman Hall with a program that includes music by Mozart, Franz Lachner, Schumann, Hugo Wolf, Berlioz, Tchaikovsky, Lalo, and Villa-Lobos.
