VFTO: 7000 citizens demand measures for ocean health

Nearly 7,000 citizens participated in “Voice for the Ocean”! The NGO would like to extend its warmest thanks to each citizen who took the time to speak their concerns on behalf of the ocean, and reinforce its commitment to placing ocean health at the heart of the upcoming political debate.

Biomedia on beaches: an eye on water treatment plants

Since the beginning of the 2000’s, thousands of biomedia have been found on Europe’s coastlines. To fight against this new type of plastic pollution, Surfrider Europe has implemented a system of observation to follow their circulation in nature. After more of 10 years of investigation, here we present the results of our investigation on the origins of this curious pollution.

CITIZENS WEEK

INDRE-ET-LOIRE CHAPTER

From March 26th to 30th, the plastic artist and volunteer of the Surfrider Gironde chapter, Vanessa Balci was exhibiting her works made of plastic waste found on beaches. Beyond this exhibition, school events were organized by Indre-et-Loire volunteers and a conference entitled "What if man's survival depended of the ocean?" took place: an event full of information and discoveries!

OCEAN INITIATIVE

SOFIA CHAPTER

In an unusual way for them as they usually travel on the Black Sea coast to organize Ocean Initiatives, volunteers from the Sofia chapter conducted this waste collection around the Lake Pancharevo, located near the city center of Sofia. 

This event attracted many citizens volunteers come to give a hand to the usual volunteers, including a lot of children.
