| | Friday, March 1, 2024 | The NFL Combine began yesterday, offering a glimpse of tomorrow's NFL superstars. Not only does a new draft class provide hope for all 32 NFL teams, but it also offers Fantasy managers a modicum of optimism if their 2023 Fantasy campaign didn't quite go as planned. An infusion of young talent is always a good thing and we're at the precipice of receiving exactly that, as the 2024 NFL Draft is just around the corner. | | If you're high on a prospect coming into the combine, their performance in Indianapolis will either confirm your evaluation or prompt you to go back, look at the tape, and reassess your rankings. For more NFL Combine insight and analysis, you'll want to check out Dave Richard's NFL Combine preview. However, if your preference is to rely on veterans as opposed to the fickle nature of a first-year player, you'll certainly want to keep tabs on some of the more highly coveted free agents around the NFL. | If you'd like to know where some of the top free agents could potentially land, Jamey Eisenberg has you covered. Take a look at his 2024 free agent preview, which also features ideal fits for players who could put up big numbers next season. | 2024 NFL Combine Preview | The top NFL prospects descended on Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Thursday, joined by NFL personnel. These players will undergo physical and mental evaluations, meet with NFL decision-makers (including an NFL owner if interviewed by the Washington Commanders), field questions from the media, and finally – showcase their skills in on-field drills. As Dave Richard highlights in the NFL Combine preview, this draft class is teeming with talent at the quarterback position. | | Caleb Williams is the consensus No. 1 quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft. While he is present at the NFL Combine, he won't be working out. However, if you'd like a full breakdown that further illustrates how his talents could eventually fuel your Fantasy success, you'll definitely want to read Dave's Fantasy scouting report. In his NFL Combine preview, Dave examines the skill sets of five quarterbacks, five wide receivers, four running backs, and two tight ends. | | To cap off his analysis, Dave also provides Fantasy mangers with an idea of which round each prospect may be taken off the board, across a variety of Fantasy formats. To see if any of the incoming rookies fit into your Fantasy plans, be sure to check out Dave's 2024 NFL Combine preview. | 2024 Free Agent Preview | Free agency is near and pretty soon, some of the NFL's premier players will have new cities to call home. It won't be long before we find out where the likes of Justin Fields, Derrick Henry, Gabe Davis, Hunter Henry, and others will continue their football career. Jamey Eisenberg's free agent preview also features notable trade/cut candidates such as Russell Wilson, Nick Chubb, Mike Williams, and Taysom Hill. In addition to naming players who could be on the move this offseason, Jamey also took the time to identify ideal fits for each player listed. | | In my humble opinion, the most likely player-team pairing found in Jamey's free agency preview is Derrick Henry to Baltimore. Not only is it a schematic fit, but it's also a philosophical fit. Baltimore will likely be without Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins in 2024 as both players are UDFAs. With Keaton Mitchell scheduled to eventually return to the lineup after tearing his ACL against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 15, the Ravens will need another back to take on the lion's share of carries. Derrick Henry combined with a sprinkle of Justice Hill could easily get the job done for the Ravens in 2024. | | With that said, I'll let you all draw your own inferences when it comes to ideal fits for the upcoming crop of free agents. For a comprehensive list of top free agents and ideal fits, read through Jamey's 2024 free agent preview to see if some of these projected unions actually come to fruition. | | | | | College Basketball on CBS | | Eye on College Basketball | Saturday on CBS it’s a college basketball doubleheader, beginning in the SEC with Arkansas on the road against #16 Kentucky followed by USC facing Washington.
