It has emerged that the SDLP put forward the recall petition after it was announced there would be no prosecutions in relation to the funeral of Bobby Storey.

* A young driver has died after a three vehicle collision on M1 - two passengers are being treated in hospital - PSNI appeal for witnesses.
Police have this morning confirmed that a man in his twenties has died following a collision on the M1 this morning.

* ‘Confusing and inconsistent’ COVID-19 laws prevented Bobby Storey funeral prosecution.
Northern Ireland’s Chief Constable Simon Byrne has contended the “ambiguity” of the coronavirus regulations is to blame for prosecutions not being brought against 24 people who were charged over their attendance at the funeral of senior republican Bobby Storey last year.

* NI’s handling of sex crimes ‘improved’ since critical 2018 report but still more to be done, says CJI.
Police and prosecutors have improved their handling of sex crimes in recent years, a review by the Criminal Justice Inspectorate (CJI) has found.
