Good morning reader, Welcome to Tuesday's newsletter from The Scotsman. It's time to talk about Covid-19 again. It is easy to forget we're still under restrictions, so used to lockdown life have we all become. Nicola Sturgeon has said that guiding Scotland safely through the rest of the coronavirus pandemic is her “number one priority” as she prepares to give her latest update on coronavirus restrictions. At lunchtime we will have the first Scottish Government Covid-19 briefing in weeks. It was expected the First Minister would announce all of Scotland would move into Level 2 from May 17, however a surge in cases in Moray has prompted NHS Grampian to say that it would be “wrong” to relax restrictions there along with the rest of the country next week. Our reporters expect the FM to ease rules on indoor visits, allow pubs and restaurants to serve alcohol indoors and provide an update on overseas travel. But we won't know for sure until Ms Sturgeon speaks. Stick with us and we'll provide analysis during the briefing on our live blog. Scotland is divided on their opinion of what the Scottish Government should do if Westminster refuses to allow a second independence referendum, a poll has found. Given the passion the constitutional debate stirs this may not come as a huge shock but the split is stark. Nearly half of all surveyed believe the Scottish Government should take the UK Government to court to try and establish a legal basis for a referendum or hold the referendum anyway. In our property section today, a chance to escape the bustle of city life. The only home on tiny Torsa Island is available for rent meaning the only company lodgers can expect during a stay at the serene isle will be the plentiful local wildlife. Sounds idyllic to me. Meanwhile, celeb spotters in the Scottish capital are in for a treat. A new film starring Ezra Miller, Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck as Batman is to begin shooting in Edinburgh. Production on the latest superhero film is already underway in London, with a host of cast and crew members ready to travel to Edinburgh and Glasgow in June.
