At least 50 people were killed in the region when Ida swept through last week. More than half of those deaths occurred in New Jersey, where Biden got a firsthand look at the damage in Manville, one of the hardest-hit communities. |

During his visit to New Jersey, Biden linked the extreme weather to climate change, and issued a call to action. |

“We’ve got to get the school system masked, in addition to surrounding the children with vaccinated people. That’s the solution. We don’t need to see a big uptick at all in cases if we do it right,” Dr. Anthony Fauci told CNN today. |
---|
|

Nearly 2 in 3 parents support mask mandates in schools, according to a new USA TODAY/Ipsos poll. |
